In die vroee 1980's het sy haar eerste werk by Your Family-tydskrif begin en later was sy die Angela Day hulplyn-koordineerder by The Star-koerant waar sy verantwoordelik was vir die administrering en ontwikkeling van resepte, kosstilering en ondersteuning tydens kookklasse. Tans bestuur Elinor 'n klein spyseniersbesigheid en sy is ook werksaam as resepte-konsultant.
