About the Author

Rebecca Stefoff has written many nonfiction books for young readers. Earlier works about the exploration of North America include the three-volume Extraordinary Explorers series (Oxford University Press, 1992), The Viking Explorers (Chelsea House, 1993), and Exploring the New World (Benchmark Books, 2001).
