Overview

Homeowners in the western areas of the country can now make their home landscapes more attractive and functional with Western Home Landscaping.  Like the other titles in this series, this book contains three parts. In the "Design Portfolio" section, readers will find 42 designs created by landscape professionals from the area. The designs address the variety of climates found in the west, including cool coastal areas, hot inland valleys, and the special conditions of higher elevations. Emphasis is placed on conserving water and using native plants. "Guide to Installations" explains how to install the plants, paths, patios, and arbors used in the designs. More than 200 of the best plants for the region are fully described in "Plant Portraits." Clearly written in a friendly style and with 450 color photographs and paintings, Western Home Landscaping provides everything homeowners need to know to landscape like a pro.
