Overview

The text presented here is in fact a reprint of a booklet of technical exercises for piano compiled by Henry Levey and based on specific passages found in the Preludes op. 28 and in the Studies op. 10 and op. 25 by Fr. Chopin. Its first publication (1908) was included in Schimer's Scholastic Series as volume 9. Exercises dedicated to a serious and fruitful study of preparation for the technical difficulties present in Chopin's piano virtuosity are in fact little attested in the literature of the instrument, making this collection truly precious for those approaching piano virtuosity in general and the dreamy and delicate world of Chopin in particular.
