Overview

Poet, essayist, composer and painter, Rabindranath Tagore was the first non-European writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. In 1914 he published The Gardener, a collection of poems that constitutes one of the most enduring examples of the simple but profound style with which Tagore knew how to captivate several generations of readers.
