Deborah Crombie is an American mystery author best known for the Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James series set in the United Kingdom. Born in Texas, Crombie lived for a time in the UK, and it was there that she was inspired to write her first book, A Share in Death in 1993. To date, she has written more than a dozen novels in the Duncan Kincaid series.
