Overview

1483, England. For almost thirty years there has been a struggle for power. The branches of the royal house are arguing about whose flower should show off on the coat of arms of the state. King Edward IV suddenly dies. A series of palace intrigues ends with the imprisonment of his children in the Tower. In the novel "The Secret of the Garden Tower" this story is an instrument of political manipulation, which is carried out by various persons over the course of several years. Each of these faces represents the fate of the children of Edward the Fourth in some favorable light. The secret of the Garden Tower is the driving force behind the events in the lives of the heroes. Two young people psychologically grow up, and an elderly person is forced to break the established, comfortable views. One of the heroes, a descendant of an ancient knightly family, believes in the power of weapons and in the triumph of justice. His friend prefers to stay away from the thick of the fighting, believing in the power of the mind, capable of unraveling the Gordian knots of big politics. And, finally, the main character, a servant of several kings, is a stoic and fatalist who shuns any attachments. He endured a series of heavy losses and disappointments. He skillfully adapts to the rapidly changing political situation, keeping a secret in his heart. Life itself forces her to solve it. About the author: Ruth Flanders (b. 1980) is a writer, media communications specialist, author of several adventure novels, short stories and dystopias. Acute psychologism with hints of socio-political satire and non-banal humor are the hallmarks of her works, in which the author provides the reader with the utmost freedom in assessing what is happening. The events of the historical novel The Secret of the Garden Tower precede the events of the already published work The Publican's Daughter and reveal what was barely mentioned in the second book of the cycle dedicated to the era of the reign of the first Tudor in England (1483 - 1509).
