W. Kippen was a co-founder of the Canada Committee in 1964, becoming the Council for Canadian Unity in 1977, and was co-author and publisher of �Option Canada,� about the economic consequences of Quebec separatism from Canada, for which he was awarded the Queen�s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1987.He received his second award, the Queen�s Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Medal, in 2012 for his support of Encounters with Canada (EWC) at the Terry Fox Inspirational Youth Centre in Ottawa, which has inspired 93,000 teenagers since its founding in 1987.
