Kevin D. Murphy has been researching and writing about nineteenth- and twentieth-century architecture for more than twenty years. He earned his PhD in architectural history at Northwestern University. and has worked extensively in his native New England with redevelopers of rowhouses, particularly in Boston's South End. He taught architectural history in the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia for six years and is currently Associate Professor of Art History at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and Brooklyn College. Murphy is the author of several books and his essays have appeared in numerous scholarly publications.
Radek Kurzaj's architectural photography has appeared in numerous international magazines and has been the basis of several books, including Living Large in Small Spaces: Expressing Personal Style in 100 to 1,000 Square Feet, American Country Churches, Treehouses of the World, and The Abrams Guide to American House Styles. Kurzaj resides in Szczecin, Poland, and New York City.
