J. P. Smith, Ph.D. is a motivational speaker and Army chaplain who has traveled the world sharing leadership lessons to organizations, churches, and leadership teams looking to build cohesion, a winning team, and healthy, effective organization. Dr. Smith was raised in the absence of his biological father, lost his mother early in life, and was told he would never amount to anything. He shares stories of how God took someone experiencing brokenness and through His grace, created a champion.

He holds two Master’s degrees, one in Divinity, and the other in Theological Studies. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. He has earned the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He believes the stories and examples within this book will inspire people to embrace their true God-given distinctiveness and value their reflection through the eyes of God and awaken the champion within.
