About the Author

Andrew S. Warner, MD is Chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology at Lahey Clinic, and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has been Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Lahey Clinic since 1992 where he has participated in many clinical trials for new treatments for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and is the author of numerous publications in the are of inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Warner has been an active member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and currently serves on the medical advisory committee of the New England chapter.

Amy E. Barto, MD, was born and raised in Cheshire, Connecticut. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Lahey Clinic. She is Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Lahey Clinic, and she is published in her field. She is also an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Barto serves as an active member of the physician advisory committee for the New England chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. She continues to conduct clinical trials for the treatment of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
