Overview

Presenting the proceedings of FPCP 2018, this book reviews the status quo of flavor physics and discusses the latest findings in this exciting area. Flavor physics has been instrumental in the formulation and understanding of the standard model, and it is possible that the direction of new physics will be significantly influenced by flavor sector, also known as the intensity frontier, making it possible to indirectly test the existence of new physics up to a very high scale, beyond that of the energy frontier scale accessible at the LHC.

The book is intended for academics around the globe involved in particle physics research, professionals associated with the related technologies and those who are interested in learning about the future of physics and its prospects and directions.

About the Author

Anjan Giri is a Professor of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. Giri works on the area of B Physics, CP violation, Neutrino physics and looking for signals of physics beyond the standard model using experimental data. He has published more than 80 papers in International Journals with more than 4000 citations. Giri is a member of NOvA and DUNE collaborations at Fermilab, USA and Belle collaboration at KEK, Japan. He is known for his work named GGSZ (Giri-Grossman-Soffer-Zupan) method for the determination of CKM phase g, which is being used as one of the important methods by experiments.

Rukmani Mohanta is a Professor of Physics at the University of Hyderabad. Mohanta works on phenomenological aspects of Flavor Physics, Neutrino Physics, Dark Matter, interplay between the data and theory with beyond the standard model scenarios. She has more than 100 publications in International Journals with more than 3500 citations. Mohanta is the recipient of the Elsevier Foundation 2011 OWSD (Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World) award for Physics/Mathematics in the Asia-Pacific region. She is a member of NOvA and DUNE collaborations at Fermilab, USA.
