On a cold wintery night in the year 1847 an escaped slave by the name of Jacob leads his evil white captors on a frantic chase through a vast forest of darkness with the hopes of finding his way up north so he can get help and return and free his family that was sold off to an neighboring plantation owner a few weeks earlier. Until he slips into a purple glowing portal which magically transports him to the year 2016. A strange new world equally as perilous as the one he left. A strange new world filled with all kinds of unworldly inventions, contraptions, and gadgets he could have never imagined. A strange new world rife with injustices and prejudices that will threaten his very sanity. Will Jacob survive this strange new world? Will Jacob be able to find the help he is looking for? Will Jacob be able to return to the year 1847 to free his family or will they be lost to him forever?
