Entries include facts, anecdotes, and quotations. Russell, a history buff active in preservation-related organizations, used both primary-source materials and respected secondary sources in compiling this resource. This work might be an entertaining read for someone interested in Western history and for history buffs who do not mind reading the entire book in order to find needed information. But no index is included to help in locating information, thereby making it unusable for library reference work.
