Enjoy 47 special photos from 2021

These photos show and celebrate the incredible beauty we find in nature.

I realize common vocabulary refers to "Taking Photos," when in fact, we receive them.

Since these are photos of wild birds and butterflies, none of them were planned. Or posed. So each of them was a gift. Each of them was a surprise.

Of course, I did go out 175 times seeking them. And from experience I knew where to wait (sometimes for hours). Yet that's how life works. We begin by showing up. Then we do our best. And as a result, we achieve something we admire.

About the Author

Steve Kaye has been taking photos since (about) 1955 when his parents gave him a Brownie Hawkeye camera. Then in 1965 he began taking photos of nature during a visit to the Rocky Mountains.

He's had a varied career. First he worked for 20 years as a research engineer with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering. In 1992 he left that career to start a management consulting business, conducting workshops on leadership skills. Then in 2011, he began giving presentations that showed his photos of birds.

During 2020 - 2021 he created ten books about birds, photography, leadership skills, and poetry.
