Overview

"25 TO LOVE" is based on a true Pen-Pal Fairytale, where a 47-year old male, Belgium-born, Canadian resident, accidentally comes across the profile-ad that took a 45-years old, New York-Puerto Rican, female-prison-inmate (with a 25 to life sentence in the state of New York, running consecutive to a 30 to life sentence in the state of New Jersey) 10 years to place.  These two were never supposed to meet.  By some chance of the stars, they did and now, it's an improbable love story that takes place in a very uncommon setting, a maximum security prison for women.
This story is about "what" happens when love-at-first-sight hits you hard and "how" far you would go for that love.  Through countless stays at hotels, on top of tons of photos and letters, hundreds of cards and several hundred phone calls, he's traveled a thousand miles a month by car alone (not including his flights) to go visit her.  Hence, he has traveled more than 40 thousand miles, which is the equivalent of going around the earth at the level of the equator, and then taking your car from the North Pole to the tip of South America.  What follows that?  They fell in-love.  They got married.  He hires not one, but two attorneys to get some positive legal action going for her.  He gives up a quarter-of-a-million-dollar-job to be closer to the prison she's in.  She, being and artist, designer and musician, attempts to help him financially in all ways possible, to no avail, but he manages on his own and she continues to try.  He has a best friend who happens to be an Award Winning film producer in Canada, who becomes enamored with their story and thus, begins a documentary to tell their story.
Together, five years later, after going through some serious, what seemed unending red-tape, envy, hate, trials and tribulations, sacrifices, prison rules and regulations and a difficult ex (of his), the determined 'power couple' through an abundance of humor, laughs, tears and patience, are finally on their way.

About the Author

Ivié De Molina is an artist, author, painter and musician currently incarcerated in a maximum security prison in the state of New York. Her sentence, 25 to life for murder, is what inspired the title of her book, 25 to Love, which details the amazing, romantic, epic love story she thought she would never have. She was born in Brooklyn NY from Puerto Rican parents, had a hardworking life as a child, teenager and young adult under the supervision of a generous mother, and was making a 6 figure salary in telemarketing by the age of 21 years old. By the age of 25, she had received her real estate agent's license, was doing house music demo tapes, and was well on her way to become the first woman stock broker with a major Wall Street brokerage firm when her life brutally collapsed. The sudden recollection of painful childhood sexual abuse memories when coming face to face with her sent her life spiraling down. Drugs, including a severe crack addiction, alcohol, high-end prostitution and finally working as a Manhattan dominatrix led her to a brief but intense life of crime which ended up in her arrest and incarceration for various offenses, including murder, in 1994. Still in prison today, she is a fully rehabilitated artist who believes her new husband and love of her life constitutes her redemption.
