In this first story that introduces the Sanity Lane series 15 year old Ariel Simpson puts on the air of looking pretty, making good grades, taking care of her nine year old brother RJ, cooking, cleaning etc, while dad is working and mom (Muriel Simpson) is tearing up the house because she refuses to take her medication for bipolar disorder. 321 Sanity Lane is the address of the first house we'll visit in the appealingly quiet block of "Sanity Lane."
