Overview

In this 4th novel of the new TOM SWIFT Invention Adventures, the young inventor helps launch a brand new submarine only to be called in days later to rescue the crew as it sinks in the Atlantic Ocean. He not only saves the crew, he helps bring the sub back so it can be studied and repaired.

But, this doesn't end the matter. The U.S. Government knows of at least a half dozen sunken nuclear subs located around the world and every one of them is outfitted with at least one reactor and often multiple nuclear torpedoes. Not only are they an environmental hazard, they might provide nuclear materials for unfriendly nations or terror groups.

So, they load Tom a gargantuan submarine, one originally built for the cold war but never put to use. Swift Enterprises outfits the sub as a recovery submarine and set out to bring up these wrecks. There are forces out to see Tom fail, even to the point of attempting to destroy the recovery sub.

But even bigger surprises await him... and dangers!

About the Author

Hear the name Victor Appleton (the first or II) and you should think of Tom Swift. In five series that has ben the name of the author. But, Victor doesn't exist. In fact, there have been about two dozen people who have written the stories under that house name and taken a single payment for all rights to the novels.

Now, a single author is taking on the task of creating a new series single-handedly, with at least 20 books planned—15 available by the end of 2015—along with more than a dozen collections of novellas involving some of Tom's lesser inventions and many of the secondary characters in the novels. Also, a short series of novellas involving Tom's mother and her secret work for the FBI is available in three collections, and another three collections about his father's small inventions including a rapid delivery kangaroo, a folding car, and even a phony pterodactyl.
