Overview

The sixth long-player from the country-rocker, Nine Lives sees Koe Wetzel dial back (a little bit) on the hellraising and deliver a 13-song set that's as lyrically vulnerable as it is innately party-starting. Wetzel's bold blend of Texas outlaw country, rock, grunge, and hip-hop remains intact, especially on rowdy crowd-pleasers like "Casamigos" and "Bar Song." Still, the heartfelt ballads "Sweet Dreams" and "Hatchet" show a softer, more contemplative side of the artist. The LP also includes the radio hit "High Road," which features guest vocals from Jessie Murph. ~ TiVo Staff
