About the Author

Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) was a Prussian philosopher and writer active during the Enlightenment. Born in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad), Kant never ventured more than ten miles from the city of his birth. He showed a remarkable aptitude as a student, and published his first major work at the age of 23.
