About the Author

Robert J. Sherwood is an author, professor, national seminar leader, professional speaker and a successful entrepreneur. He currently hosts a radio program, dedicated to the Web, which is broadcast on the radio as well as the Internet. Robert J. Sherwood is president of SmartText Corporation. SmartText provides individuals, institutions and businesses with specialized management consulting services, litigation support activities and legal form software. From 1991-1997, Mr. Sherwood was President of the Center for Business Innovation an organization that provided business services and capital for early stage high technology entrepreneurial companies. From 1993-1997, Mr. Sherwood was also President and founder of Capital for Entrepreneurs, Inc., a venture capital firm. Sherwood is an experienced expert witness and has been engaged by prominent law firms to testify on Internet related disputes.

Sherwood is an Entrepreneur of the Year winner, an award sponsored by Ernst & Young, NASDAQ, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and Inc Magazine. Mr. Sherwood was also an Adjunct Professor, University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Distinguished Lecturer, University of Kansas, where he taught courses in New Venture Creation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Capital.

Early in his career joined an early stage company in California, which grew from 30 employees to more than 5,000 employees in less than 5 years highlighted by a public stock offering by Morgan Stanley. Mr. Sherwood was an executive with RasterOps Corporation a high technology computer products company. RasterOps grew to $50 million in 3 years and made a successful public offering in 1990. Mr. Sherwood was also founder and president of an environmental equipment manufacturing company, which was chronicled in Business Week and Fortune magazine as one of the most innovative companies in California. Mr. Sherwood was an executive with other successful international companies in the environmental and computer fields. He has lived in Paris, France and traveled extensively throughout Europe, South Africa and the Middle East.
