About the Author

John Burke began working at Trek Bicycle in 1984 and has been president of the company since 1997. In 2021, Trek was named one of Time magazine's most influential companies. And in 2023, Trek was named a Top 100 place to work by Fortune magazine. In addition to leading Trek, John served as chairman of President George W. Bush's President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.John is an avid cyclist, sustainability advocate, runner, and published author.
