Overview

The "A Brand-New Me Journal" is a journal about the move forward. It's about reflecting and appreciating how you've changed- your metamorphosis into an improved version of yourself. A project that introduces you to the new you. This is the Journal for new perspectives- finding the treasures in the pain we endured. I think we're ready for the next chapter!

About the Author

Amanda is simply a student of the universe. An educated
woman from the hood (with many degrees, AS, BS, M.Ed, M.S.
and a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Innovation),
quirky and silly with a very creative mind.
Just like many of you, I too have many layers to me. My
past represents hope for my future when I feel like giving up.
It represents a purpose that is guided by the universal energies
that surround me.
I hail from a financially impoverished family, but we were
rich in love. I followed the wrong crowds as a teenager and got
into a lot of trouble. I spent my weekends visiting my brother
in prison. I was Pregnant at 15. Kicked out of high school at
16. Started college at 17. Dropped out at 18 with a 1
something GPA. I changed my major several times in college…
computer management information systems, accounting,
business. I’ve worked in many fields, construction, retail, real
estate, higher education, dental, and even the military- Gosh, I
was a terrible soldier. Was married, and had a terrible divorce. Had
many broken hearts. Broke many hearts. Went to jail. Was on
probation.
I’ve lived according to societal standards, and I’ve
denounced many ideals on my journey to self-discovery. But my
story isn’t a woe is me story. It’s really one of hope, faith,
and beauty. One of self-discovery. Today, I feel whole because
I found a new me.
I am a mother. My kids, light up my world.
