Overview

A meditation on the many spects of grief that touch the painful moments leading to the death of a loved one. But this book goes much further by charting the course of grief that occurs after death. The sorrow caused by the loss of other dear ones: children and close friends. Above all she identifies with the grief of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who mourned the death of Joseph and then walked the Way of the Cross to the death of her son. Foreword by Bishop Robert Morneau, DD; Preface by Alfred McBride, O.Praem.

About the Author

Roberta Charneski lives with her husband in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They have four children: two married daughtes and another who lives in Richmond, Virginia. Their son was killed in 1975 when an automobile struck him while he was riding his bike. In an effort to bring something good out of this terrible tragedy she co-founded, along with her husband, Compassionate Friends of Brown County, an organization that gives support to bereaved parents. She later met with Dr. Kubler-Ross and then worked several years as a volunteer in the hospice program. Through the years her Catholic faith and her devotion to Mary has been her strength.
