Lisa L. Schoonover is a published author, ESL instructor, educational publishing consultant & curriculum developer, and literacy advocate. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, Lisa has over twenty-five years of combined teaching and publishing experience with Houghton Mifflin, Pearson Education, McGraw-Hill, Riverside Publishing, as well as other educational development houses and major publishers across the country. She has been instrumental in implementing pilot reading and writing programs, (including the Headstart and Homeschooling programs), and has been teaching ESL to learners for twenty years. Lisa's passage and item writing work can be found in educational texts and guides nationwide. She has also been an editor for the European and Asian educational markets. Lisa was Assistant Editor of Schoolwisepress in San Francisco, and Science Content Editor for CK-12 in Silicon Valley. Lisa is the originator of Anitya Press, and the creator of the Ancient Tales™ series for children, which has already received high praise for originality in both content and artwork. Lisa is the author of The Indigo Butterfly, and Nepal: The Sacred Treasure. Ancient Tales™ titles include: The Rainbow Maiden of Kauai'i, A Day in Florence, Nepal Life, Lost Murals of Oakland, Desserts From the Spice Road, The Egyptian Book of Days: A Heartsong, and Sun Woman: An Aboriginal Tale, Aurora Australis: The Southern Lights, and The Oracle of Delphi: Prophecy of the Pythia. Lisa has written for numerous travel magazines chronicling her travels, such as Conde Naste Traveler, Transitions Abroad, Budget Travel, and Boots 'N All. She was the local arts reporter for both the MV Times, and Martha's Vineyard Magazine, and her work has appeared in city guides throughout Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, as well as international publications like The Irish Independent and Celtic Tides. Lisa weaves together her years of travel writing, curriculum & instruction, and educational publishing to create quality, memorable stories for her readers.
