Maddie and Emma’s friendship is a joy to watch, but readers of the second book in the series may take some time to warm up to Saul, who struggles between his feelings for Maddie and the strict rules of his faith. Maddie’s family history holds the answer that leads to their happiness, but the ending leaves readers waiting yet again for the answer to a mystery carried through the series: Is Aaron Benjamin’s father?
