Overview

A history of the old First Ward Cemetery in Syracuse, NY. The cemetery was created as a burial ground for the no longer existing village of Salina, NY in 1829. It continued in use through the merger of Salina into Syracuse, NY in 1848 and on until approximately 1909. Early families of the village were buried here including many early salt manufacturers. As the cemetery's markers were unfortunately removed, an attempt has been made to collect as much information referencing the cemetery as well as the internments made there. May be useful for historical and genealogical interest and research.
