Overview

An Invitation from St. John of the Cross

Thus, with the guidance of John of the Cross, Lent can become a period of renewal, a period where we reorder our priorities from many things to one: God alone. We still have our work to do and obligations to fulfill, but throughout Lent we can learn to be for God alone and to find our reward in God alone.

Such an undertaking cannot be done by mere human willing; we need the help of God, which comes primarily through prayer.

from A Lenten Journey with Jesus Christ and St. John of the Cross

Inside you will find a short biography of St. John of the Cross, a brief History of Lent, the counsel of St. John of the Cross on following Jesus, and more, along with readings and prayers for every day of Lent. Each days readings and prayers includes: a Gospel Reading, Selection from the Writings of St. John of the Cross, Reflection and a Prayer.

May Jesus Christ and the wisdom of St. John of the Cross fulfill your Lenten Journey, and lead you to Gods Holy Easter of Peace, Love, and Joy.
