Through a list of entries spanning from A to Z, he hopes to be able to delight you, make you think, and ultimately, if the stars align, make a connection across the page. Let yourself be taken in by each story, lose yourself in each anecdote, and maybe most importantly, make this experience your own. Welcome to A Life Lived In Spite Of ________, please enjoy the ride.

About the Author

Ethan Yamashita is a senior writer at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. He is very stressed about applying to colleges like Stanford and Johns Hopkins. He hopes to go into medicine and eventually into pediatrics or orthopedics. He loves to make food, read, play/listen to music, and wear short sleeved button up shirts. He’d like to extend his deepest gratitude to Mrs. Anderson, without whom he admits he would not be half the writer he is today. He’d also like to thank Ms. Lee, without whose herculean effort this whole book would not be a reality. He would also like to thank all of his family, friends and fellow senior writers who are his constant source of support and inspiration.
