Overview

A Lifetime in Eleven Days shares an emotional and reflective journal of life in the Intensive Care Unit of a Texas hospital following the authors' mother's emergency surgery. The surgery went well and the updates via phone of her mother's prognosis brought hope, until the following day, when a dramatic downturn in her condition dramatically changed lives. The journal transcriptions evoke childhood memories, some of them wonderful, some of them painful, and reflect the more important aspects of the author's early life. It's likely that the memories will feel familiar to many readers, even as they discover the underlying theme, which is a deeper story of life, love, struggle and loss.

About the Author

Donna KBerger Brau has spent her life seeking a career in the arts with creative writing always in the background. Forty-five years of her professional work days were spent as a florist, department store display coordinator, owning her own retail business, an early childhood music education specialist and early childhood education and care teacher, retiring as an administrator. She also was a part-time professional vocalist for 25 years. In retirement, she dove into more creative outlets including felting and throwing pottery, still singing with a local chorale, still writing.
