A Message to My Children
The idea for this book is simple: I have the desire for us to be nicer to each other as people, to better understand each other, to learn and teach each other. I'd like to see people who are totally different become interested in each other's cultures, lives, and ideas. I'd like to see our kids better prepared for the workforce and the real world of business and life. I'd like to find a way to treat everyone as an equal, and not just for the moment or the movement, but as a way of life. My goal is that every person who may need a small bit of inspiration or a little encouragement can find the words to continue pushing forward.

In culinary we say, "Commit to the life, and the opportunity will come." Here I say, "Commit to the passion to change, and wait for the kindness to shine." I give you the words of my heart and ask you to protect these words and share them with not only the people you love, but also the people you may not even know. Teach your kids that life begins inside their favorite book.

"Extremely powerful! We all learn from our own and other people's successes and failures. My parents were amazing, but they would have been even more amazing if they had done something like this for me. This is an incredible read by G. Garvin, and I love to see the man he's become!" —Chris "Ludacris" Bridges

"When I was growing up, there were some things you just didn't ask folks. 'How much do you make?' 'Who did you vote for?' And man, am I glad my parents taught me those lessons. But let me tell you, G. Garvin has gone next level with his one-line lessons. Read 'em. Teach 'em. Live 'em. And most importantly, laugh all along the way." —Guy Fieri
