This is an excerpt of the first chapter from my previously published story called "Shawnee: The Adventure Continues". This chapter stands on its own as a short story involving a Georgia plantation owner back in the early 1800's who just happened to be a Cherokee Chief. He and his family discover gold on their land which sparks confrontation with local whites who decide they want the gold for themselves. Battles ensue resulting in death, thus forcing the son and daughter of the chief to leave Georgia in hopes of finding a new start somewhere far away from their home.

About the Author

I am a retired factory worker. I worked for Kraft Foods for 35 years and retired at 55 in 2009.
