A Time for Miracles: Beating Cancer in God’s Time
Prayer Was the Missing Prescription

When Ron Armstrong found out he had stage IV colon cancer, he had only one thing to say: “Oh, Lord, why me?” There was no history of cancer in his family; in fact most of his relatives had lived into their eighties and nineties.

Still, his emotions ran the gamut: fear of what lay ahead, anger about the brutal, invasive treatment he would be subjected to, and sadness that this might mean the end of his life. He wrote out a bucket list and made plans for his funeral just in case.

But then something miraculous happened. In the course of undergoing surgery and radiation, Ron’s entire outlook changed—not just on life but on his relationships with his doctors, his friends and family, and most of all his faith.

Told through a series of journal entries and e-mails, A Time for Miracles follows Ron as he battled this terrible illness, from the moments when he felt abandoned by God to the days when his loved ones’ tireless prayers lifted him up and helped him fight. In the end his story is one of hope that will resound with anyone who has faced cancer, or loves someone who has.
