The author, Carol Hazelwood, was the foreperson. This is the story of compassion, pettiness, stupidity, and sincerity of twelve jurors struggling to come to a right and fair judgment as the law dictates. About the Author

Carol Hazelwood graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in Criminology. She enjoys her outdoor garden railroad, woodworking, travel and her golden retriever Jenny. She was a champion golfer and high school women's soccer coach. In 1986 she revitalized the Newport Beach Library Literacy Program and remains involved with the program. She is a former free-lance journalist, writing for sports and retail magazines. She has published several novels and co-authored a memoir. She is a widow with three married sons and three grandchildren.
