Ruth Warburton grew up on the south coast of England and went on to study English at the University of Manchester, where she developed a fascination with Old English and Middle English texts. Researching A WITCH IN WINTER brought her back to them, in particular BEOWULF and LE MORTE D'ARTHUR. Other inspirations were ancient Mesopotamian demons, Voodoo spells, Tudor superstitions and 15th century witch-hunting guides. All these inspired the Winter Trilogy.
Ruth is a publicist for adult fiction at Random House and lives in North London.
Ruth Warburton was born and raised in Sussex, on the south coast of England. She grew up on a reading diet of her mum's classics (Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre) her dad's sci-fi and fantasy (A Wizard of Earthsea, Flowers for Algernon) and the Jilly Cooper novels passed around school at break time.
She now lives in London where she is a publicist by day and a writer by night.
