About the Author

Cathy has been writing for as long as she can remember. To begin with she kept a detailed diary and published poems and short articles in the school magazine. In her teens she progressed to writing short stories, newspaper articles, a few radio plays and entered writing competitions. Then in her early twenties she wrote her first full length book.

For a long time writing was a hobby for Cathy; something she did in her spare time, then later something she fitted around being a mother and a foster carer. It wasn’t until she wrote her first bestseller DAMAGED (2007) that she began claiming time for writing.

Sixteen bestsellers later, Cathy still fits her writing in early in the morning so that it doesn’t impact of her family commitments, but now it is a big part of her life.

Cathy has three children and is a full time foster carer and author.

Cathy has been a foster carer for over 25 years, during which time she has looked after more than 100 children, of all ages and backgrounds. She has three teenage children of her own; one of whom was adopted after a long-term foster placement. The name Cathy Glass is a pseudonym.

Cathy has written 16 books, including bestselling memoirs Cut, Hidden and Mummy Told Me Not To Tell.
