Overview

Most books are meant to be read. ABSolution! is not that kind of book. ABSolution! is meant to be used. Rather, think of it as a workbook. Use this book to improve core stability and strength, prevent or rehabilitate injuries, decrease pain, improve posture and balance, and increase energy. ABSolution! is designed for everyday people who want to safely strengthen core muscles for optimum function and, in the end, realize real fitness results! How does ABSolution! keep it simple?

Short, step-by-step, bullet point instructions, no lengthy paragraphs
Clear pictures to follow and imitate
Pre-designed workouts for every ability level
Workout at home! Minimal to no equipment required for all exercise

ABSolution! is written by a physical therapist. Prevention and safety are built-in to the progressive format of each chapter.
ABSolution! has simple, numbered instructions, and LOTS of cropped, color pictures. Highlighted "cues" are provided to promote proper form.
ABSolution! requires minimal to no equipment and all the exercises can be done at home! No monthly dues, no waiting for a parking space or equipment, no peer pressure!
ABSolution!, despite the "ABS" in the name, is focused on strengthening the entire core: abs, back, hips, shoulder blades. A strong, healthy core allows the body to provide stability while controlling motion, an essential combination for injury prevention.
ABSolution! is designed for all ability levels. It is appropriate for people who have never performed exercises for their core, for people who are currently participating in physical therapy, for people who have "graduated" from physical therapy, for people who used to exercise, but have "fallen off the wagon", for people with intermittent or chronic pain, for people with no pain, and even for people who exercise daily.

About the Author

Swen-Marie Germann is a licensed physical therapist and personal trainer in Minneapolis, MN. Swen graduated first in her class at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, and received the Manual Therapy award. Swen is a mother of 3 busy children, ages 12, 9, and 5. Swen is a former All-American volleyball player, and a current competitive beach volleyball player.

The #1 question people ask Swen: Swen is not Swedish. She is Dutch (maiden name, Minnema). She was named after a pro basketball player named Swen Nater (also Dutch). Her parents decided to add the hyphen Marie, to make the name a little more feminine.

Swen is passionate about healthy living, and improving quality of life through exercise! Be Well!
