Lakia and her family lost everything in 2013, and went from a home of seven years to living with friends and family, and then to D.C. General Family Shelter, where she lived for more than a year. Through her pain came her purpose and she is now running a women’s group called I Am a Woman of God Support Group on Facebook, where she inspires and uplifts women through her daily messages. Every day she thanks God for what she’s going through so she can push another woman who may be struggling because nothing is gonna stop her. The quote she lives by daily is Slay Pray Believe, and she stands on these words faithfully.
