ADHD Sibling Challenge

It's not easy to have a brother or sister with ADHD. This book makes it easier—for siblings and for their parents or caregivers.

"Brilliant! Unique! …a concise, user-friendly, reliable, and practical manual that parents can use with their children.  This hugely needed book fills a tremendous gap." —Edward Hallowell, M.D., co-author of "Driven to Distraction" and "Delivered from Distraction"

Siblings of kids with ADHD often feel:

  • Frustrated by frequent family arguments.
  • Burdened to be the "good, understanding" child.
  • Saddened by family conflict.
  • Resentful of parental attention given to the sibling with ADHD.

The ADHD Sibling Challenge, a book by child psychiatrist and former Harvard Medical School instructor Barton S. Herskovitz, MD is for kids and parents, working together. Using stories and exercises, kids learn to identify and manage their  feelings about the challenges of living with a sibling with ADHD. Kids learn new coping skills to more effectively navigate the family environment.

Exploring this book together strengthens your relationship with your child, helps you understand your non-ADHD child's needs, and gives you tools to help them feel understood and supported.
