About the Author

Educated at Achimota in Ghana, Ing. Kwasi Poku proceeded to the United States, obtaining Bachelor's and Master of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, U.S.A. in 1969 and 1971, respectively. Ing. Kwasi Poku is the principal shareholder and Managing Consultant of Cort Consultants Ltd., a pioneer multi-disciplinary consultancy firm in Accra offering Process Engineering, Industrial Project Design and Management, Plant Maintenance Management, Environmental and Safety Management, Business Development, and Programming (developing Strategic as well as Business Plans) and Training in Project and Business Management. The latest assignment was a Contract from the Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Liberia, as Project Preparation and StartUp Coordinator for the World Bank-sponsored Smallholder Tree Crop Revitalization Support Project (STCRSP)-from 2010 to 2013. Poku served as Special Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture in the Republic of Liberia (2007-2009), helping to write the National Agriculture Development Policy and Agro-Industrial Development Strategy under a World Bank contract.
