Overview

FROM THE AUTHOR: African Love Charms is an amalgamation of African proverbs, sayings, languages, and people written into short stories. It, for me, was a labor of love. I began writting this book with the intentions to keep all things African at my fingertips. The "record keeping" of African information became more than a hobby, when I started writting the languages of the people as personalities. Such as Bantu. A language widely spoken on the continent. I wrote a short story, giving Bantu a personality. By the end of this story, Bantu had become a king, with three wives and many royal children. I attempted to give all of my characters flesh and bone, and minds of royalty. African Love Charms is a book of knowing.

BOOK DESCRIPTION: Read of the Regal Queen Mande as she goes in search of a husband to put an heir on her throne. Travel with Bantu, as he crosses Africa into the hinterlands and encounters the self-assurd Twi. Experience the birth of Yoruba, and get tossed about in Swahili's dream. After reading 19 original stories in Part One, Part Two will take you on an extended journey through an uninterupted history of Africa. Part Three slips into an outline that gives a short list of African Kings and Queens. From the Chemitu or Ancient Egyptians to the Asantehene. African Love Charms is totaly original and after reading this book of praise words, you will not soon forget.

FROM THE BOOK: The Creation Myth; Before She was born in the Kongo. I dimmed the moon and lit the sun. I split the earth to make the waters flow. From calm I created chaos. For you not to forget me; a piece you will have, a portion I will keep and the piece I will take back.
