About the Author

Mansoor Ladha is an award-winning journalist, editorial columnist, travel writer and author of three nonfiction books: Memoirs of a Muhindi: Fleeing east Africa for the West, Off the Cuff and Portrait in Pluralism: Aga Khan’s Shia Ismaili Muslims. He was awarded Canadian Governor General's Caring Canadian Award (2023), Silver Quill Award by the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association (2010) and Citizen of the Year Award by the Town of Morinville (2004). He has travelled all over the world as a travel writer and has had travel features with pictures published in leading Canadian newspapers and travel magazines. He has also been a regular editorial commentator for several Canadian newspapers.

Mansoor has held senior editorial positions in newspapers in Canada, Kenya and Tanzania and he was the only newspaper publisher/owner of the colour of mainstream newspaper in Canada. He has studied for B.A. in political science at University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and journalism at the Thomson Editorial Studies Centre in Cardiff, Wales. He is a member of several writers and media organizations and has served on leading boards, public bodies and community organizations.
