AGENDA 21 is an analysis of the UN's Sustainable Development Program, instituted in 1992 at the Rio de Janeiro summit, where some 177 delegates established the main requirements for a program to insure a balanced social and economic development throughout the 21st century. The book analyses critically the main characteristics which make this program a socialist road map for the entire world.
It starts by examining the UN drive to dismantle the capitalist system, in favor of a more "equitable" arrangement, where the private property is outlawed, and the world's society is highly regimented along a virulent leftist ideology, with marked communist tones.
The aggressive environmental activism subscribed to by the AGENDA 21 authors is meant to limit severely the use of the land, in favor of the subjective elements lumped together under the label of "biodiversity", where the human element is secondary to other forms of life.
By studying the content of the four Sections of the Agenda 21 Act, the reader can conclude unequivocally that the aim of such programs is total control, through a massive world government
operated by UN bureaucrats. The main points of the effort to "change the society" consist in the reduction in the energy use, cutting open access to all types of commodities, by stifling social mobility and reducing the world population to "manageable levels", through forced family planning.
The results of adhering to this type of "smart growth", .as envisioned by the UN brass, will be
the creation of a UN colonial empire with feudal rules. Retaining the role of single taxing authority,
worldwide, makes the UN organization a powerful dictatorship, where the American constitutional traditions are frown upon, as a "bad example for the rest of the world".
The author quotes several international journalists who studied the Agenda 21 Act, giving the reader the opportunity to evaluate most of the pro and con data objectively.
