Overview

All Shapes Matter is a story about five shapes - triangles, rectangles, squares, octagons and circles. The shapes spend their first day at elementary school learning a lot about each other and having fun. However, during recess, some of the shapes come across a problem they are unable to fix by themselves. The unfamiliar shapes who were initially shunned for being different end up coming to their aid. The shapes learn a valuable lesson that their differences can sometimes be more important than their similarities. They realize that there is value in diversity and that 'All Shapes Matter', no matter how similar or different they are.

I am a teacher in an elementary school and have included this book as part of the virtual online book readouts in the current virtual school environment. What a beautiful story - the children love to hear this story over and over again. After finding out that the story was written by another child in elementary school, my students now want to do the same - what an inspiration!!!

Great book! My daughter is 2 and this book taught her the shapes quickly and easily and has a great message. After reading this a few nights in a row she began to insist that we all hold hands on the last page and shout, "all shapes matter!!" I've heard her on the monitor a few times repeating phrases from the book. I love that it was written by a young boy and illustrated by his family.

"All Shapes Matter" offers a simple, yet powerfully sophisticated message. Although penned as a children's book, people of all ages can benefit from its message. Shapes matter, words matter, actions matter; let's all work harder at embracing our differences.

My son loves this book and has his shapes memorized before 2 yrs old because we read it so often!

This is a book that every child should have when growing up. Colorfully illustrated with attractive colors. The language is uncomplicated so beginning readers to fluent readers don't feel daunted by the choice of words. The concept of the book is simply demonstrated through the use of deconstruction and assembly of the school bus. The conclusion could address an important issue of inclusion. In our diversified society. Very appealing!

I was pleased to win this book from Goodreads and the 7 year old author, Chakra Sreekanth. This is a wonderful introduction to shapes for children with a message toward kindness and inclusion. There is a lucky little girl who will receive this gift.

I bought this book for my 2 year old daughter who loves books. She was immediately drawn to the colors and shapes drawings. At night time when dad and I ask her what book she wants to read she always says: "shapes, shapes, shapes". I love the overall message of the book ! I find it super cute that a young child helped write the book. I highly recommend this book :)

Fabulous book depicting all shapes with the circle at the center of it all. A circle is a perfect, positive symbol.

Buying this book for my kid, I never imagined it would move me. A story written by a child for children - unbelievable!!! A family project to boot - Kudos!!! I applaud the parents who didn't taint the purity of thought in the story from the perspective of a child.
