About the Author

BIOGRAPHY
G B “Jerry” Mooney

My generation grew up quick and tough. The great depression didn't allow us to be children; we were too involved in trying to stay alive. My family barely survived. I can still remember being cold and hungry. Parts of three families lived in a leaky, wood frame, small, Coal Company owned house in Greensburg, a small town in western Pennsylvania.
Immediately after surviving the depression my generation was thrust into World War II. After graduating from high school I enlisted in the Army. While in the Army I married Kathy Shields, my high school sweetheart.
After military service I worked full time while attending Evening School at The University of Pittsburgh, earning an Engineering degree in 1957. During my thirty year engineering career I worked as a design engineer and engineering manager for two major corporations; one a manufacturer of high voltage electrical equipment, the other a designer and manufacturer of equipment for Naval and Commercial Nuclear power plants.
I have worked and associated with laborers, technical geniuses, CEOs of major corporations (one, George Shultz, became Secretary of State), employees of local, state and Federal agencies (Including the Bureau of Ships, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, NASA and Department of Energy) and all sorts of political hacks, from tax collectors to US Senators.
While working for others Kathy and I developed our own business interests, buying or starting six businesses. I resigned from my last position in 1977 to devote full time to our own businesses while continuing to work as an Engineering and Business Consultant
My last consulting assignment, in 1990, was writing a management proposal for a space project. The proposal was presented to Vice President Dan Quayle, Senator Al Gore (chairman of the Senate Science Committee) and Senator Robert Byrd (chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee).
Immediately after that project we retired to southwest Florida.
I now have time to pursue my writing avocation.
My first adventure/romance novel, The Last American Hero. Was published in 2001.
The Persian Viper, my second novel, was published in 2001.
Songbird, a love story about a beautiful, sensual woman singer who climbs to the top of the music industry, was published 2008.
The Blue Hole, a fictional adventure novel about a plot to sabotage US nuclear power plants was published in 2008.
