Overview

"A wish is just a wish until it's wished." What would you wish for if you knew that time was running out? What if you gathered your dreams and wrote them on index cards? What if you trusted the universe to look over your shoulder; to guide your hands while you shuffled, then stacked them face down? Would you have the courage to follow through? Could you find it in your heart to believe? Could you believe in miracles? Could you believe in magic? What would you trade? What's a dream worth? What if the first card turned was "Love" This is our story.

We had nothing to give one another except words; every one of them precious. Thoughtful gifts of truth. Four-hundred, forty-seven days of sacrifice. We abstained from the joys of voice to force us silent in a world of noise. Old world correspondence regained against a backdrop of Tweets. A written conversation. Love letters between two hearts that always believed. I've saved and hoarded and gathered our dreams, a year of faith and magic. I'm ready now to give them back as a gift for you to share. To guide the lovers who search, to lead those who believe; to share our beloved tale. To show the world the power of hope.

The book's simply a conversation between two strangers who became friends; two friends who fell in love. That, the conversations are between myself and one of the most beautiful souls I've ever met is to the benefit of the reader. She is brilliant, kind, compassionate beyond belief, with a sense of humor that's unparalleled. She is the lyricist and poet that opens every chapter.

This is her story; this is our story.

We hope you find yours as well.

About the Author

I wrote a book to honor a promise I'd made in my youth. Then, wrote three more with her, Ms.? Sarna. I had a reason to fear that the world would miss her voice. I look old and haggard now, my friends think I'm insane. She has a difficult illness. I wasn't a writer. Hell, I wasn't even good boyfriend material. Yet, today there are half a million words formatted for Kindle, ePub, Books, and print, which I didn't know how to do. I've worked eighteen-hour days, seven days a week since January 20, 2018.

Our conversation started while I was still editing my first book. I was working on a shoestring budget. I had placed it online so I could see the finished product beforehand. She ordered my silly fable before I could pull it back off and looked past the mistakes. Something spoke to her. She ordered the first two copies ever sold. She reached out and I responded. I was getting to know her. I refused to talk on the phone because this is Twitter and I was working. She respected my time and we talked when we could. This went on for months. I had saved my direct-messages so I could read them again with my full attention, away from editing. I scrolled through them all over a lazy weekend and blown away. I saw the beauty of what was happening; of how close we had become. I panicked at the thought of losing them.

You see, she loses confidence in herself some days. It's the nature of her illness and her past. I wanted her to see herself as I did. But she's smarter than I am and to this day she has never deleted a single word. Most people call it a 'stalker journal.' But that couldn't be farther from the truth. She is gracious and kind and loving. She's brilliant, witty, and fun. She has a smile that lights up a room. She has a laugh so wicked and full that when my cat heard her through the phone, he jumped from the bed and hid. That's his nature though and she adores him. She loves me. She has confessed that it happened while reading my book. Then grew deeper through our conversations. She agreed to write the poetry that opens every chapter.

She's smarter than me. But I'm in love. She needs me, and I'm out of time. She is too damn special. Something wonderful is about to happen. I'm going to show you an angel's soul. She believes in love and magic and never giving up. She believes in me. She believes in us. I'm not going to let her down. So the universe needs to step up and spin some karma our way. I'm big on promises. So is she...
