Overview

Polly a country girl is sent to the city to visit with her rather spoiled worldly young cousins.  She is viewed skeptically at first but her simple charm and frank ways soon endear her to jaded, bored cousins, and bring depth, and beauty to their shallow lives.   A story told in two parts.  It follows Polly and her cousins as they learn lessons together, encourage each other in difficulties, and grow to be successful young men and women.  This book is a charming classic with messages relative to today about, peer pressure, and the true way to success. Illustrated with color illustrations.

About The Author

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist and poet best known as the author of the novel Little Women and its sequels Little Men and Jo's Boys. Raised by her transcendentalist parents, she grew up among many of the well-known intellectuals of the day such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau. Little Women is loosely based on Alcott's childhood experiences with her three sisters.
