And The Moral Is ...
Behind many stories you've read
Is a message you should have caught
These messages are often called morals
So listen real close to be taught
While reading, I hope they will help you
Its a game! A puzzle! A quiz!
Can you figure out from most of these poems
Just what the moral is?
I hope you enjoy these short poems
While learning a lesson or two
But don't put it down and forget it
Please share it with friends when you're through!
What Do You Do?
What do you do
When you've lost your shoe
And its time to go to school?
You cant go without
Since there isn't a doubt
You would be breaking a rule!
You could borrow from Mom
And walk very calm
But her heels would go clickety clack!
She would hear you walk out
And there isn't a doubt
She would make you put them right back!
You could borrow from Dad
Would that be so bad?
They would hurt by the end of the day
You would want to pout
And there isn't a doubt
You would want to put them away
So what do you do
When you've lost your shoe
And the bus comes rolling along?
Remember tomorrow
So you wont have to borrow
To keep them where they belong!
AND THE MORAL IS ...
Willie & Billie
There once were two brothers
Named Willie and Billie
They lived in a house
On a mountain quite hilly
One had a girlfriend
Named Lillie Padillie
The other liked Millie
Who dressed very frilly
Willie ate chocolate
And Billie vanilly
Did you ever hear
Of a story so silly?
What A Sight!
While eating my dinner one night
Mom said, "That's a horrible sight!
When you chew, close your mouth
As your food heads due South
Or Ill lose my appetite!"
AND THE MORAL IS ...
Between You and Me
Between you and me
I spotted a bee
What scared me the most
Is when he spotted me
Between you and me
I started to flee
He became very mad
If you saw, you'd agree
Between you and me
I ran straight to a tree
But then I saw YOU
And you came to help me
I'm really scared now
And so should you be
Since now that mad bee is ...
BETWEEN YOU AND ME!!!
Brace me!
During school one day
I think it was May
I bent down to tie my shoelaces
When up I stood
Things were not going good
My best friend had come in with new braces!
I said, "Oh, what a fright!"
As I laughed at this sight
Then made fun for the rest of the day
Other kids joined in too
Why did he seem so blue?
Oh well, it was fun anyway
Called him names, Ill name some
Tinsel Teeth! Glitter Gums!
And I laughed til I fell on the ground
This happened for days
We found so many ways
To make fun, but all he did was frown
I wasn't sure why
Til one day I did lie
In a dentist chair for just a cleaning
His news I did hate
Said my teeth were not straight!
So now, do you get my meaning?
"BRACES!", he said
That word crashed in my head!
And I realized why my friend was blue
So don't laugh and poke fun
At the differences of some
Because you might end up that way too!
AND THE MORAL IS ...
Say It Fast!
My name is Spiffy Spatten Smat
And it will never change
My whole family has such names
Do you think that is strange?
My brother, Clay Cob Clackin Smat
Just learned to say his fast
Another, Truman Trimp Tromp Smat
Can only say his last
I have three sisters, ready now?
The first is Fran Fern Frat
The second Smat is Smit Sue Smot
What do you make of that?
The final Smat, the last one born
Is Betty Blotter Blisters
What can I say? The plain truth is
Our parents like tongue twisters!
