Overview

Climate change has left Angel's homeland barren and its people starving and dying. Her parents, Mary and John, decide to migrant with her and her younger brother Julian across a dangerous desert in hopes of finding a better life in the land of Promises. Angel and her family journey with their meager belongings along with other migrants in the merciless sun. They must overcome their fear of the unknown and risk their lives in hopes of ultimately being rewarded with a better life. There are both laughter and tears along the way. Early in her travel, Angel meets Paula, and the two beccome instant companions, supporting each other through what proves to be an overwhelming trip for both of them. Both girls demonstrate great tenacity and courage as they fight for a better life for themselves and their family.

Vincent is a former high school English teacher and adjunct college professor who wrote Angel Promises: Journey as a result of her need to express concern for the wellbeing of children in general and migrant children in particular. Ms. Vincent has been writing since childhood and provides social and political commentary on social media.
