André Klip was trained and graduated in law. He has been Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and the Transnational Aspects of Criminal Law since 2001. he is Member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Penal Law. Founder and Editor of Annotated Leading Cases of International Criminal Tribunals (42 volumes since 1999). Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal on Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. In 2012 he published the 2nd edition of European Criminal Law. An Integrative Approach, Intersentia Cambridge. Throughout his career, professor Klip has been frequently involved in national and international legal practice. As of-counsel for various law firms he has been involved in litigation and advice relating to cases before the Court of Justice, the European Commission of Human Rights, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and many first and second instance cases. He is judge at the ’s-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal (criminal division).Steven Freeland is a Professor in International Law at the University of Western Sydney, Australia, where he teaches International Criminal Law, Commercial Aspects of Space Law, Public International Law, Human Rights Law and International Moot Court. He is also a member of the University’s Justice Research Group, and Co-Director of Research at the School of Law. He is or has been Permanent Visiting Professor in International Law at the University of Copenhagen, Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, ‘Marie Curie Visiting Professor’ at the iCourts Centre of Excellence for International Courts, Denmark, a Member of Faculty of the London Institute of Space Policy and Law, and has been an Expert Assessor for Government Research Agencies in Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, South Africa, and Hong Kong. He has taught courses at Universities in The Netherlands, Austria, Belarus, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Denmark, United States, Australia, Turkey, France and Singapore. He has also been a Visiting Professional within the Appeals Chamber at the International Criminal Court, and a Special Advisor to the Danish Foreign Ministry in matters related to the International Criminal Court. He sits on the Editorial Board of the Australian Journal of Human Rights, the Australian International Law Journal, the Canada-based Annals of Air and Space Law, the German Journal of Air and Space Law and the China-based Space Law Review, and on the Advisory Board of the India-based Asian Journal of Air and Space Law and the UK-based Journal of Philosophy of International Law, as well as a series of books entitled Studies in Space Law. He is also Co-Editor of Annotated Leading Cases of the International Criminal Tribunals, a long-established series of casebooks annotating the jurisprudence of the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the Special Panels for Serious Crimes in East Timor. He has published widely on various aspects of International Law and has been invited by national and international media outlets worldwide to present numerous expert commentaries on a wide range of legal and geopolitical issues. He has also been a frequent speaker at national and international conferences in many countries.
